My pEncil speech 13.3.15✏️✏️✏️
As you can see my artifact is a pencil. Please do not make assumptions that this is a boring artifact and that I have put no effort or time into thinking about what I would like to bring in. Believe me. I have many extravagant gifts that would seem more fitted to this subject but please just wait until after my speech to critique my choice.
A pencil. A normal grey lead pencil. But it is so much more than that. It shows creativity, intelligence, mystery and suspense. They all start the same but end differently. They are regarded as a necessity for life. We would be lost without them. Ideas of genius have been written with a pencil. Cures for diseases, sketches of famous and infamous fashion. They all started off with a pencil and paper. Everything we know has been scrawled, scribbled or sketched with a pencil.
I believe a pencil relates to me by being useful, but sometimes perceived as unimportant. It is the glue keeping our society together. Often we forget about the common aspects of life that often get thrown away or not taken seriously. I know it may still seem unbelievably stupid to choose something so common, but I believe a pencil is so much more than the cylinder of led covered in most commonly, red, black and white.
ned Kelly 13.3.15 🔫👮
In humanities we learnt about the infamous bushranger, Ned Kelly. We learnt about his life and his family, and how he became a bushranger. Many people view him as a ruthless criminal, many other people see him as someone who stood up for the poorer people. All we can really know is that he is an important part of Australian history.
